Two of the houses are slated and tje remaining dwellings are thatched and built of stone and clay.
The townsland probably derived its name from Cluain Turc meaning Meadow of the wild Boar.
There are no septuagenerians living in the district this many a year.
Year ago there was five more houses in the district than there is at present. My father told me the names of three of the families which were Garrotts, Masseys, and Moores and he could not tell the other two names. The Moores migrated to other districts and the Masseys and Garrots became extinct.
The townsland is not mentioned in any song as far as I can account for.
One-third of the land is fairly good and produces some good crops of Oats, wheat, barley, turnips, potatoes and beet. The remaining two-thirds is very boggy and bad.
The townsland contains no wood and there are no rivers, or lakes, or streams of any importance to be seen.
