dind. For years after you could not stand on it. Fairies were heard kicking foot-ball also. A man named Lalor was coming home late one night and a funeral came out of it. He thought he knew some of them, and was delighted to have the company, he got under the coffin to help the men to carry it. But when they came to Nevell's Rath they, all of them disappeared and left him in a curious state for a long time. Strange noises were heard around other Raths, and lights were often seen, also big black cats, and people were afraid of their lives to pass them at night.

  2. Beside the Rock of Dunamase a hidden treasure is buried in a deep well south- west of the fort. It was placed there by the O Moores on their retreat to Kerry. It was placed there for safety. Gold, urns, and precious vessels are stored there. People once went with dogs to look for the well, but they were prevented by rats, and they had to run for their lives.
