- Spadán
When the land is being prepared for potatoes, sometimes no green heart is left in the ridge. Two sods are tuned one side, and one turned on the other side to meet them. There is no spadán done in this part of the country now, except in second crop. - Stipping:
A sod is turned each side, and the width of a sod of green turf is left between stable manure is put on the green sod. Mould from the furrows is put over the manure, and the ridge is complete. Stripping is always used for first crop potatoes in this part of the country.- Faisnéiseoir
