- St. Brigids Day.
Long ago a company of boys and young men dressed themselves in straw and went around dressing the doors. An account is given about them in the above folklore. When the Breedogues dressed the doors they knocked at each door, went into the kitchens and started dancing and playing. While they did so, one person was whipping a cake off the tables. If it was not a cake it was pasteries or some other kind of eatables. These Breedogues never took money. After all the houses were collected they went to one and shared all the booty.- Bailitheoir
