supposed to have once stood where the Well now is. On the spot where his Church stood, a well sprang up. It is rather small and it never dries in Winter or in Summer. A heap of stones surrounds it. St. Brigid is supposed to have put them there. Hence the name "St. Brigid's Well".
People still believe that the water in the well effects the cure of bodily ailments. It is said that if a person walks around the well three times reciting certain prayers, then rubbing the water on the affected part of the body, that a cure will instantly take place. Many reported cures have taken place at this well.
