    Peggy Pluck: was an old woman who used (sell) go around selling little odds and ends. One day she went into a house in Castlemore to try and sell something. when she went in she saw the woman of the house sitting down in a corner crying. The beggar-woman asked her what was wrong with her but she would not tell her. One of the children told her that they were hungry. The beggar-woman went to the nearest shop and bought a stone of meal and gave it to the children.
    Shaggery-bags: was an old woman who lived in Castlemore long ago. She was supposed to make castor-oil out of small boys. Every one used to go to town on a Friday
