Date: 6-6- 1938In most districts in Ireland old crafts were carried on. My district is no exception as many such trades flourished long ago but very few of them now remain.
The principal industry in my locality was candle-making. It was carried on in almost every house. The people used to get rushed about a foot long and put them in a griset. Then ?? some lard was put in it. When the rushed had soaked the grease they would be left to harden and then lighted.
