- There is only one tailor in this district now. He always works at his own home. He never stocks cloth.
The tailor has always the latest news of the district.
He uses many implements in the course od his work- a scissors, needles, a thimble and a pressing board.
In olden times flax was grown in this district and brought to the mill where cloth was made for shirts, sheets and tablecloths.
Local farmers who had no sheep bought some from large farmers. The women spun thread from the wool of the sheep for blankets and stockings. Socks are still knitted in this district the wool being bought in town. There is only one spinning wheel in this district now.
