- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)They fought with rifles and cannons until at last, the "Black and Tans" were put to flight. There was no one killed but a good many seriously wounded.
- There is a well in Palmfield. It is called "Tobar na hÉaduigh" or the well of the clothes. It was a holy well and the people used to go to it on a certain week each year to pray. Before they would go away from the well, they used to tie ribbons on the branches of a white-thorn bush beside it. This well has a wall all around it. It is about two feet deep and about thirteen feet in circumference. There is iron in its waters.
The well was not then where it is now. About twenty years ago a woman came washing to the well.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
