Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The weeds that grow in our vegetables are the dockens, nettles, thistles and chicken- weed. The thistles spread rapidly and also the nettles, but if the seeds are cut off nettles before they are ripe they would not spread.
The juice of the dockens is a cure for a sting of a nettle. Chicken-weed when it is boiled is a cure for a sore neck. Nettles can also be boiled and eaten or given to turkeys.

The dandelion, the buaclain and rushes also grow on our field. The dandelion is an herb and a weed but when it is washed it can be eaten with salt. It is very healthy to eat.
