   On St Patrick's day the people pick and wear the three leaved shamrock in honour of St Patrick.
   On St Brigids night the boys put on false faces and go from house to house.
   On Shrove Tuesday all the house keepers make pancakes and the big boys and girls go to Skellig.
   On Ash Wednesday people fast pray.
   On Good Friday every one that can go to the Chapel and go round the Stations of the Cross.
   On Easter Sunday morning it is the custom to rise early to see the sun dancing.
   On May day it is the custom to rise early and bring in the Summer leaves.
   St John's day is the longest day in the year, and it is the custom to light bonfires.
   On Halloween people put apples or nuts into a bucket of water and let some one dive for them. Big boys and girls stay up late to play blind mans buff and other games to know which one would be married first.
   On Halloween each family buys a cake containing a ring, a pea, a bean, a rag and a stick.
   It is the custom on a wedding day to scatter rice over the parties and tie old Shoes to the car.
