   When my father was born the whole place was covered with snow up to about two or three feet high. Not one was able to go anywhere, and his mother got pneumonia, so there was no one to mind him.
   My father had one uncle dead at the time. This man had an old servant, " Judy" who still lived in Kinsale town. That night he came and stood at the foot of her bed making a rustling noise which awoke her. "Oh Master Jerry" she said "what is it you want".
   " There is a baby born at Tissasson house" said he " go and take care of it for the mother is ill." She said there is not, and he said there is, so she trudged two miles from Kinsale to Tissasson that dark night through all the snow. There she found my father, so she took care of him and never took her eyes off of him 'till she died, five years later
