- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)name of Sprowls distroyed the well, most of them go blind afterwards. Another story is one day when the Saint was blessing the well, a hunt passed along.
There were nine Kelly's at the hunt. The horses dashed mud into the water and spoiled it for the time being. The Saint said there would never be nine Kelly's at a hunt again.
There was once a little girl who could not be cured from vomiting, somebody went to the well and got some water and gave it to her to drink and immediately she got cured.
In olden times people used to do stations at the well. First they had to creep round the well five or six times and had to say certain prayers, then they had to creep across the fields to Ballagh road.
The people say if there is a person sick and want to know if he is going to die, let a person go to the well before the sun rises and stick the slug of a bottle into the water if it does not bubble the person will not die. They are supposed to drink the water. This information was obtained from:-
