- There was an old man and he lived in a place called Sheagit. One night he was minding stock in a common as it was his turn to do so. While he was there they came along hunting and they began mocking the old man because he was in their way. He told them to go away as he was only a poor man and he had no horse like they had. They said they would give him a horse if he came with them and show them all Ireland. He said he would go with them. They said they had only had a calf to give him, When they put him up on the calf they told him not to speak until they would leave him at home safely.
