- When Morty Oge was shot in Cualac there was an old woman in Bearehaven who was able to compose poetry in Irish. Her name was Máire Ní Súilleabháin. She composed this poem in Irish about Morty Oge but it was translated into English some time after her death."O Scully you traitor you cruelly betrayed him
In his dark hour of death when he needed you most
He clad thee he fed thee and fully maintained thee
O may the hearth stone of hell be your best bed forever One day after Morty Oge was shot she met Puxley on the hill shooting and he asked her to compose an irish poem(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
