Holy water is kept in every house during the year. There is a special blessing on holy water at Christmas, Easter and Rogation days.
The people bring holy water from the Church at these feasts. When the people make churns they sprinkle holy water on them, and when people are going to bed at night, it is sprinkled all over the house. It is used also when a storm is on, or when there is thunder and lightning. Rogation days it is sprinkled on the gardens, cattle, sheep,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
