- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)was once a man who was very poor, and he had brother who was very rich. One day the poor brother went to his brother and asked him for money and he said he would not. On his way home he met a man who had a small mill, and the man asked him where he was and the poor man told him the story and he gave him the mill. And he said when he would twist the handle once, he would get gold or whatever he wanted.
He lived very happily and then one night sailors went to the house and stole the mill and they twisted the handle for salt. The mill remained grinding salt [?] for ever in the bottom of the sea.
Another story is: Long ago there was a man going from Bantry to Kenmare with butter. It was very late in the night and he wanted to give his horse something to eat. He did not know where to go and he saw a light in a house. He went in and there was a man dead in the kitchen.
