- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There is a fictitious story told a woman named Mrs. Sullivan who was a local resident and rather of unsound mind. She was a poor woman who never had a very extensive education and could neither read not write. She went out boating with some friends one day and when she returned to the shore she is supposed to have had the gift of making poetry. This is very unlikely and cannot be credited but nevertheless it is the only instance I ever heard of people suddenly acquiring the gift of poetry. No poet ever tried to banish rats from a house and I doubt if they would have succeeded had they tried.
