  1. It was the landlords who divided the land into farms. The lands used be divided again sometimes. If a man had a big farm he would divide it among his sons.

  2. The family of Swantons were landlords of the townland of Ballydehob. We do not know how long had the family been settled in the district, but we know they were couple hundred of years at least. I think they were middling good landlords.
