Late in the evening Father Covney (a curate) came along on horseback he rode into the yard through the police, and said to the bailiffs "isn't it time for you give up?"
The police and bailiffs left the yard about 7 o'clock that evening, having failed to evict Grace.
They didn't make a second attempt to evict him until about 12 months after, when there were so many side-cars of police that it looked more like a funeral than an eviction. They succeeded in evicting his this time.
