- A number of fishermen from Goleen went fishing one night & they returned home with their "catch" about 2 o'clock in the morning.
One of the men-Will Camier- had a very difficult way to go home, he had to go for about a mile, along a rough boreen, through a bog & he had no light.
The other fishermen said to him "Will, you will have a tough job getting home to-night & one very old man (who was supposed to be in league with the faries) said "ah! he will have it harder than any of you think, unless he does what I tell him".
He then cut a twig (Jack Ross, who told me the story, said it was a hazel twig, but he was not definitely certain) & handed it to Will Camier & told him to keep it in his hand until he got home, & and he said "if you throw it away, there is trouble in store for you".
To please the old man, Will took(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
