Annaghmore. - the big marsh. This is a very marshy district and the water of the bogs is called "Spa" water. There is a well in Mr Lehanes land in this townland, locally known as the "Spa well." It is excellent drinking water but very hard to boil and when boiled has a rusty black appearance.

Brothersfort. - got its name because of a family of brothers named White who owned the district. Others say that it got its name from the slayer of Brian Boru - Broder.
