    In the past when the landlords were in power no one could cut turf but as the landlords liked. They had people to watch the bogs called bog-rangers.
    There was a bog-ranger in Rahalisk who favoured the tenants, and when they found a "ver" stick he let them take it by night. Once they were taking a stick, and the landlord (who was dead) sat upon the stick.
