- The local roads are generally called after the townlands that they are passing through, such as, the Barrachauring Road, the Kilmartrin Road, the Aghavateen Road, the Meenachoney Road, the Clogher Road and the Kerry Road.
The Kerry Road is so called because it is the straight Road from Cork to Kerry and it passes through Donoughmore.
Nearly all of these Roads are very ancient. There was a passage made by the Board of Works to give work during the famine times from Kilmurry Inniscarra Co Cork up through Derry and up nearly to Donoughmore Cross.
There are very few by-ways in this district. There is one by way which begins at Gowlane go through the Land of Lacabawn and leads to Stuake.
There is still a ford crossing the river Dripsey between Kilmartrin and Kilcullen.- Bailitheoir
