    The Round Tower of Waterloo is situated in the townland of Ballygibbon, in the parish of Blarney and in the Barony of East Muskerry in County Cork.
    The Tower was built by Father Matt Horgan in the year 1845. It is about 70 or 80 feet high. There are eight or nine storeys in it and a trap door on each floor and you get to the top by means of a ladder. First you go up to the first Storey and then pull up the ladder after you and so on until you reach the top. There is a belfry on top. It took a good deal of labour to build the tower as it is very high but the people helped him a great lot by giving him carts and horses and men. The bell at the top is used to call the people to mass.
