   Three Rows of Flint on top of the "Yalla Bench".

   On top of the Flint is a Limestone Flag 4" high & makes cover for drains, sewers & is very suitable for Stiles on pathways etc.

   The Síle Bhuidhe. Height 9" to 12". It has a yellowish cast. "It comes out of the kiln as it goes in" - no amount of heat will even change its colour nor its appearance. Is a good building stone for outside use. It is a "Weeping Stone" therefore not used for dwelling houses. To all appearances it looks to be good limestone but is not.

   The Anvil Bench. It can be easily recognised by its ringing sound. Height varies from 9" to 11". It can be reduced down to any thickness. It is especially used for fancy window work.

   The Two Flags. over the Anvil Bench are two flags 6" & 8" in height and may be used for a variety of purposes.
   Then as the top of the quarry is now being reached the stone is of a mixed quality. Over the Two-Flags is a row of

   Nineteen-Inch. It has on top about two inches of flint which usually divides from it.

   The Black Marble. This Bench is about 14" in thickness. As this stone is at the top of the quarry it has a good nature and is used only for rough work - roads etc.
   It derives its name from the fact that when polished it shines hard like marble.
