- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)parts. Long ago people used gather round to hear them telling stories but they no longer do this.
As a rule these travellers are always welcome, as they are looked upon as a charity. They get most of their food as alms from the people. They are very persevering in their asking and often '' the more they get, the more they ask''
Some of the men have many horses and donkeys, and are always buying and selling, and even ''swapping '' animals.
Crowds of them are at the fairs especially
horse - fairs. Very often they quarrel and row in the evening, as they give themselves up to drink during the day. The same may be said of the women as well as the men.
Before and after fairs many ''caravans,'' may be seen on the road side a short distant from the town.
