- Gleann tín an Aifrinn is situated in Scarteen. It is so called because a priest used say Mass secretly to the Catholics. A priest whose name was Fr Gahan from Limerick visited the priest in Scarteen. The Spies told the soldiers, and at night the two priests were shot, and buried in Scarteen.
It is also known that a priest left Limerick about that time to come into Cork and he was never heard of afterwards so that he is supposed to be the priest who was shot in Gleann tín an Aifrinn- Bailitheoir
