   There are only a few ruined houses in my district.
   Many people who could not get work at home emigrated to America or England.
   My district is mentioned in history. It was the seat of the Mc. Auliffes, and John Philpot Curran was born here.
   The land is good in some places, but it is very wet in some parts.
   There was a wood growing there a couple of years ago, but since then the farmers have cut it down.
   It stretched from the Railway Station to the Fountain. It was about two miles long.
   A little river called the Ramp flows in the valley between our townland and the Demense.
   It joins the Dallow at Allen's Bridge. This river used to turn a mill in former days.
