Why so called :-
The Buaile is a field for keeping cattle. The Warren is so called because a great many rabbits live there. Páircín means a small field. The Black-meadow is so called because the soil is black. The Camp Field is so called because soldiers camped there. Gleanntáin an Aifreann is a glen in the land belonging to Mr. O'Keeffe of Scarteen, and it is said that mass was said there in the Penal Days.
