- In a place called Cullen, Co. Cork, there lived long ago a girl named Latheran. She was very good and holy, and was able to take red coals in her apron without being burned.
One day she was going through the street and the smith said "What a lovely pair of feet." She looked to admire them and immediately the coals burned her apron.
She cursed the smith and from that day to this the sound of an anvil was not heard in Cullen.
To make reparation for having cursed the smith she blessed a well. She had: two sisters and a brother, whom she was not able to visit because the distance was too far and the road too bad.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
