In the setting of the eggs there is a custom of sprinkling holy water on them. They are marked with the date and a cross. - There is a cross in the townland of Farrahy. One cutting is a main road and leads to Mitchesltown having come from Mallow. The other is a bye-road and leads to Meadstown. From Farrahy cross there is an Avenue which leads to Bowenscourt, in olden times there was no Avenue going up to Bowenscourt. They went by a path along the bank of the river with stepping stones where the shallow places were. This eventually led to great House.(continues on next page)
