    to the story, people say that the monks buried the Chalices and other Sacred vessels under the passage before they were drowned.
    A number of years after this had happened a large house was built on the site of the old Abbey. The inhabitants of this house heard strange and terrifying noises and foot-steps, sometimes cups were sent flying out of their hands by unseen forces.
    Later on McCurtain Street (or King Street as it was formerly called was built.)
    The house in which I live is directly over the above mentioned passage which connects the town with the spot on which the Abbey stood, part of the passage has been filled in.
