- There is a glen about two miles and a half from Fermoy. Its name is Glenabo. The reason it got this name is because there was an old fairy cow who lived there and who used to give milk to anybody who cared to milk her. One day, as the story goes, some mischievous person brought a sieve to milk the cow. The person milked and milked. The cow looked around as much as to say "When will the sieve be full?" The cow could not give any more milk so she fell dead on the ground. Everybody that got milk from her(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
