- Messrs. Petersen & Albeck Ltd. - a Danish firm of Ship-breakers took over the Dockyard in 1929. Their first job was the salvage of the White Star Liner "Celtic" which ran on the rocks at the harbour's mouth in the winter of 1928.
The salvage was a failure so the company bought old ships which owing to the world slump at the time could be had for the proverbial song.
They erected an oxygen factory near the dock and cut these ships with oxy-acetylene flame.
Following is a list of ships scrapped by the firm.Celtic (partly)
