   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   The following places are all situated in the Townland of Temple-Robin, the Barony of Barrymore, the Parish of Monkstown, and the County of Cork.
   Innis Sionnac was so called because long ago it was supposed to be inhabited with foxes.
   Haulbowline was so called because long ago when ships were going up to Cork, when they came to a certain point up the river, the skipper used to shout to one of the crew "haul in the bow line," and every ship that came up, the skipper used to shout the same words, and so the island over the river from Queenstown was called Haulbowline.
   Long ago when the British came to Haulbowline they divided it into two parts, one side for the Army, and the other side for the Navey and they were called the Naval side and the Ordinance side.
   The Yankee pier was so called because the American sailors built it during the war, to transfer their men and their store to their ships up on Monkstown Bay. The Coleen was a training ship for sailors before going to join the fleet, and it came here about fifty years ago, and when it was finished with, it was tied up and it is still here. There is a road going round to it at the West side of Haulbowline and if any person goes along that road people say you are going round the "Coleen"
