    land lord of the place and who lived in Mullach house, which is presently occupied by a family of Nolans.
    Creeves hedge-school was a thatched caban, and for seats the scholars had tufts of turf cut square. The maps they had were two feet by one, and one and a half feet by one foot, and they were the only adornments the walls had.
    In Goats street there was a hedge-school under the care of John O'Brien. This place is situated about a mile from Creeves on the Tubrid road, and got its name because the people, although wealthy, got their milk only from goats.
    Nutgrove school is built about three hundred yards from Creeves Cross. it was built in 1869 by Rev. J. Synon. Mrs. Hennessy is the present principal teacher, and Miss Ward is the assistant. There former teachers were
