   Footing
   Men generally foot turf but sometimes women foot it too. Four sods are put standing against each other and one sod on top to keep it firm this is called a "cricóg". After about another week the turf is knock down and second-footed. This time twelve or thirteen sods are put standing against each other and sometimes more if the turf is dry enough. This is called a "stolan".

   Drawing out
   A donkey is generally taken to the bog to draw out the turf because a horse would not be able to travel the bog and would sink down. It is drawn out on the side of the road and a man
