- At the present time the Children go barefoot from May to September. The people mostly wear boots but some people wear clogs. The people who wear clogs are George Bennis, Batt Collins, Tommy Bennis, Johnie Madigan, Pa Brien and Willie Irwin. There are three or four shoemakers in the district who make and mend every species of footwear. The water used for washing the feet should not be left in the pan overnight and should not be thrown out until all the household are inside.
