- About half a mile from Ballygran Village - south, is a cross called Isaac Street Cross. In olden times there was a road from Coon through this cross to the main road to Charleville. At each side of Isaac Street Cross there was a row of little houses Botháin held by tenants of Drew of Drewscourt house. They were all knocked down in one day. The method was to attach a strong cable to horses, put a cable round the house and pull the house down. Those Drews came from Scarrif in Clare. The former owners were Massys who possibly came into possession in Cromwell's time. I cannot at present trace the original owners.
- The Clashers so called from "Clash" now Killacolla were at enmity with a section here at Ballygran. Their arrival(continues on next page)
