About five years ago all the smiths made what frost nails were wanted but now they are sold in the shops. They are made by machinery. Long ago all the trades men were joined in a union and on St Patricks day there all marched in procession. Every man wore an apron with his special trade mark on it.
The smiths who made the shoes were called firemen and on their apron were drawn a hand hammer and tongs. The men who put shoes on the horses were called floor men and on their apron was drawn a small hammer and pinchers, and on their shoulder the had a horse-shoe drawn out in gold-colour.
