Ivy leaves are given to cattle on certain occasions. Ivy leaves are also used for removing stains from navy blue or black clothes.
This may be done by boiling the leaves of the ivy and when cold brushing them into the stain, and it will be like new. The alder fruit is of a purple colour. It blossoms early in summer and its berries are used for dyeing purposes, and also for making ink.
