No one is married in the month of May, as it is thought unlucky, or during Advent. A belief in Monday for wealth, Tuesday for Health and Wednesday the best day of all; Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses, and Saturday the worst day of all. Several marriages take place on Sundays between first and second mass.
Matches are made amongst farmers, and people who never saw each other, until their march is made, are married. People were married in their own homes about eighty years ago, but now they are married in the church.
A wedding feast takes place after the marriage, either in a hotel, or in the home of the husband or wife. A custom called the "hauling home" takes place after a month.
