  1. The Goats of Molly Moran.
    By John Ryan, Patrickswell.
A woman called Mrs. Mack lives near the school. Her maiden name was Moll Moran. John Ryan has land near the school. Moll Moran's goats used be trespassing on John's land. So he wrote the following lines. the college referred to is Lurriga school and there is a cross roads called Moll's cross near the school.

    The Goats of Molly Moran.
Beside the college near Molls Cross there lives a lass most brazen.
She keeps four goats as bold as brass upon the roadside grazing.
Stone walls do not a prison make for cattle so stubborn.
So French and German leave they take those goats of Molly Moran.
One day she tied the four up tight to shade them from the thunder.
And after saying her prayers that night she let them off to plunder.
That was the night of the great big push while Tom and Molly were snoring.
