    N.B. The house in which this ball took place is situated almost directly opposite the village pump. The house is now occupied by a daughter of the Johnson, who held the ball there. Many of the people who are mentioned in this song are still alive, but the majority of those who were at the ball have crossed "the bourne from which no traveller returns".
