About sixty years ago a family named Russell lived in Moatville House.

I, Gus Reddan, of Ballyhough, Eglish, heard this story from my mother who heard it from her mother, Mrs White, of Lismacrory about 30 years ago.
About sixty years ago a family named Russell live in Moatville House. They were at a party in Milford House one night and the maid stayed up to let them in when they came home. A carriage drove up to the door and she went up to let in her master as she thought it was him.
Her master found her hours later lying in the hall unconcious, beaten badly. The doctor was attending her for week afterwards.
The carriage which drove up to the door was the "Dead Coach", which used to go down the road at about 11 clock every night.
