- A man by the name of Tom Hogan, once lived in Lahorna. He was skilled in the blacksmith's trade.
He got a job in Dublin, where he soon rose to fame in the trade. Then he went to America.
But he was soon getting sick of his trade as his wages were decreasing.
When he was coming back to Ireland, he brought an anvil with him. It took two men to lift it.
When he came to Cobh he would not be allowed to take it off the ship.
