A priest that was buried there. That particular place has never been ploughed. When the monks were leaving Coolawn they hid their valuables under an oak tree. A cup made of gold, silver and bronze with one handle missing was discovered. The man who found it sold it for 2d not knowing its value.

Long ago cholera broke out among the people. They all died except two great friends of Mary Maher's grandmother who laid the dead in sheets and buried them in Fantane. The graves are to be seen, marked by stones, at the left hand side of Rody Hogan's gate.
