    a double wick and when they fell they extinguished therefore they were very safe. They were used in Mills.
    Kish making:
    There were several families in the town engaged in kish making or basket making. Those were made of sally rods. They were various shapes and sizes. One boat-shaped kish was used for winnowing oats and wheat and corn. It was called a squiv. Another was used for potatoes. Kish-makers also made cradles and bird's cages. The kishes were worth four pence each. They would be worth about three shillings now.
