  1. A Story

An Irishman, an Englishman and a Scotchman met one day.

An Irishman, an Englishman and a Scotchman met one day. The Englishman and the Scotchman agreed between them that they would make a rhyme, and which ever of them was not able to continue the rhyme would have to stand a drink. In this way they thought to catch the Irishman. The Englishman began-:
    The first of July,
The queen had a young daughter.
The second of July We had a great slaughter "said the Schttchman"
The third of July is the day after, said Paddy the Irishman.
